Setdown Social is exploring a simple question: can giving phones a visible, easy-to-reach place help make room for conversation?
We are preparing early trials with a small number of Liverpool-area restaurants, pubs and cafés. Participation will be voluntary: no app, no locking phones away and no pressure on guests.
What we want to learn
- Whether diners choose to use it
- How it affects table space, serving and clearing
- What staff and guests would change
The concept is still in development. Trial dates and arrangements will be agreed with participating venues once prototypes are ready.
